The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust

Tom ap Rhys Pryce was robbed and killed on the evening of 12 January 2006 as he walked home to the flat he shared with his fiancée, Adele Eastman.
Tom's family, fiancée and friends have established a registered charity as a lasting memorial to Tom. Tom was a beneficiary of educational funding for which he was always grateful. It is therefore planned that donations to the charity will be used to enable individuals, who could not otherwise afford it, to achieve their potential by gaining access to appropriate educational facilities.
The trustees of the charity are Tom's parents, his fiancée Adele and a partner at Linklaters, the law firm at which Tom worked.  If you wish to make a donation to The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust and you have a CAF Charity Account, please click here to go to the charity's page at www.AllAboutGiving.org

THE BOBBY MOORE FUND FOR CANCER RESEARCH UK

Stephanie Moore MBE and Cancer Research UK established the Bobby Moore Fund, in memory of Bobby Moore, to raise money for research into bowel cancer.  The Fund was set-up following Bobby's death from the disease in 1993 and since then the charity has raised over £5 million for bowel cancer research.

45 people die every day from bowel cancer in the UK.  It is the second highest cause of cancer death after lung cancer.  Yet it is highly curable if caught early.  Since the Fund was founded and, in order to ensure the very best quality research, we have established a series of Bobby Moore Research Fellowships.  These are awarded on a competitive basis to ensure that only the very best scientists are chosen.

A committee of senior Cancer Research UK scientists awards the grants.  Since 1993, we have funded 15 Bobby Moore Research Fellowships across the UK and have also raised £425,000 to build a new laboratory in Bobby's name at St Mark's Hospital in London, which was opened on the 14th October 2005.  St Mark's Hospital is the UK's leading centre for bowel disease, and the Bobby Moore laboratory provides a state-of-the-art facility for research into bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer will be extremely high profile from April 2006 as the national Bowel Cancer Screening Programme will be phased in from April 2006 over a three year period.  Men and women aged 60-69 will be invited to take part in screening every two years.  It can help to detect bowel cancer well before any symptoms develop.

Please help the Bobby Moore Fund tackle bowel cancer.

The Bobby Moore Fund is part of Cancer Research UK.  All funds raised go towards bowel cancer research.  Registered charity number: 1089464.  For further information visit the Bobby Moore Fund website www.bobbymoorefund.org
